I have much pleasure in supporting the candidature of Mr. J. H. Dancy for the post of Inspector in Hong Kong.
Mr. Dancy has for two years been associated with our school of Hygiene & Bacteriology and has thereby made himself thoroughly acquainted with all the modern principles of Hygiene & Infectious Diseases.
It is very rare to find Sanitary Inspectors possessing knowledge of Bacteriology. Mr. Dancy has taken out my practical class in that subject and has made himself familiar with the important methods employed in Bacteriology & Research.
I am sure that the acquisition of this subject will be of the very highest importance to him in any Sanitary post. It will show him the numerous ways & the means that may be adopted to prevent infection.
In consequence, I warmly support his application.
